Our Project
The digital revolution is multiplying the ability of hospitals to use and analyze their data.
During the past few years, it has led to the creation of health data warehouses (EDS for entrepôts de données de santé in French) capable of securely and anonymously collecting the data produced during the care of patients, for care and research purposes.
Given the strategic importance and the stakes for the patient, the Lille University Hospital created its own EDS with the ambition of allowing access to quality data in order to answer research questions in an optimized manner.
The data stored in this warehouse is used for several purposes such as research, improvement of the quality of care and medical-economic analysis. Ultimately, the EDS will be a data source made available to the regional ecosystem and experts in the field of artificial intelligence.
In addition, the creation of an hospital data warehouse represents a founding milestone in the commitment of the Lille University Hospital to create the 21st century university hospital connected with its patients as well as health professionals in or outside the hospital.
It is about positioning Lille, thanks to the partnership between the Lille University Hospital, the University of Lille and INRIA, as a French center of excellence for the exploitation of big data in health.
